After receiving a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education, he taught high school in Northwest Florida until heeding the call of mountains in 2006. He then settled in beautiful Unicoi County, TN where he continued his teaching at King University in Bristol. He retired in 2017 to teach privately, record, perform and be Amanda's house boy.
